Using the URL Shortener

Create shortened URLs for marketing campaigns and click tracking. Use the default glph.link domain or connect your own custom domain for branded links.

Available on: Starter, Pro, and Max plans

Overview

SnapGlyph’s URL Shortener lets you create shortened URLs for marketing campaigns, social sharing, and click tracking. The feature is available on Starter, Pro, and Max plans.

Requirements

  • Subscription: Starter, Pro, or Max plan required
  • Custom Domain: Optional. Without one, your short links will use the default glph.link domain.

Accessing the URL Shortener

  1. Log in to your SnapGlyph account
  2. Click URL Shortener in the left sidebar navigation

Setting Up URL Shortener (First-Time Users)

You can start creating short links right away using the default glph.link domain. If you’d like to use your own branded domain instead, you’ll need to set that up first:

  1. Go to Company Settings
  2. Add and verify your custom domain
  3. Enable the URL Shortener feature on that domain

Once a custom domain is configured, your new short links will use it automatically. You’ll also be able to choose a custom slug for your links (e.g., go.yourbrand.com/spring-sale) instead of the auto-generated one.

For detailed instructions on adding a custom domain, see Custom Tracking Domains.

  1. Navigate to the URL Shortener page

  2. Click the Create Short Link button at the top right

  3. Enter a Name and the Destination URL

  4. If you have a custom domain set up, you can toggle on Custom Slug to choose your own URL path instead of an auto-generated one

  5. Optionally set an Expiration Date or Click Limit

  6. Expand Advanced Options to add custom messages that display when a link has expired or reached its click limit

  7. Click Create to generate your short link

Once created, your short links appear in the URL Shortener dashboard. From here you can:

  • View click statistics: See how many times each link has been clicked
  • Copy the short URL: Quickly copy the link to share
  • Edit settings: Update the destination URL, expiration, or click limits
  • Delete links: Remove links you no longer need

Short links follow one of two formats depending on your setup:

  • Default domain: https://glph.link/AB12CD34
  • Custom domain: https://go.yourbrand.com/AB12CD34

If you have a custom domain and use a custom slug, your link might look like: https://go.yourbrand.com/spring-sale

When someone clicks the link, they’re redirected to your destination URL while the click is recorded for analytics.

Use Cases
