Available on Pro and Max plans. Found under Parameters in the sidebar.
A tracking parameter preset is a saved set of UTM values that your team can apply to any QR code or shortlink. Instead of typing utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign by hand each time, and risking typos like Facebook in one place and facebook in another, you define the values once and reuse them everywhere.
Why Use Presets
Consistent parameters mean clean reports. When everyone applies the same preset for a campaign, your analytics group those scans and clicks together instead of scattering them across slightly different spellings. Presets also make it easy to standardize how your whole team tags paid search, organic social, email, and other channels.
Create a Preset
- Click Parameters in the sidebar.
- Click New Parameter.
- Enter a Parameter Name that describes the campaign or channel, such as
Google Ads — Summer Sale. - Choose a Parameter Type. The type groups presets on the Parameters page and reflects the channel: Email, Paid Search, Paid Social, Organic Social, Display, Affiliate, Print / OOH, SMS / Push, Events, or Other.
- Fill in the UTM Parameters you want to set:
utm_source— where the traffic comes from (for example,google)utm_medium— the channel (for example,cpcororganic)utm_campaign— the campaign nameutm_term— paid keyword, if anyutm_content— used to tell similar links apart
- To add a non-UTM parameter, use Add parameter under Additional Parameters.
- Click Create Parameter.
Applying a Preset
When you create a QR code or shortlink, choose a preset to attach its parameters to the destination URL automatically. The preset’s UTM values are added to the link so every scan or click carries consistent tracking.
How Analytics Use Presets
Analytics group activity by the preset you applied, rather than by parsing the raw URL. That keeps reporting reliable even when destination URLs vary, and it lets you compare performance across campaigns and channels at a glance.
Editing or Deleting a Preset
On the Parameters page, each preset has an edit (pencil) and delete (trash) control. Editing a preset changes the values applied to future links; it does not rewrite links you already created.
Enforcing Presets
On the Max plan, Owners and Admins can require a parameter selection on every new link and automatically normalize parameter values to lowercase. See Enforcing Templates & Parameters.
