Linking a QR Code to a Shortlink

Create a QR code that points to one of your existing shortlinks, so the code and the link share one destination and one set of analytics.

Available on Starter, Pro, and Max plans. Requires at least one active shortlink.

The Shortlink QR type creates a QR code that points to a shortlink you’ve already made. Because both the code and the shortlink resolve through the same short URL, they share one destination and one set of analytics, so scans of the QR are counted right alongside clicks on the link.

When to Use It

Use the Shortlink type when you’re running a campaign across print and digital and want one combined view of performance. The same short link can live in an email, a social post, and a printed QR code, and everything rolls up together. It’s also handy when you’ve already set up a shortlink with the destination, expiration, or parameters you want and would rather reuse it than re-enter all of that.

Create the Code

  1. Click Create, or go to QR Codes and click Create QR.
  2. Under QR Code Type, choose Shortlink.
  3. Select one of your active shortlinks from the list. If you don’t have one yet, use the Create one link to make a shortlink first, then come back.
  4. Optionally apply a template or adjust the colors, pattern, frame, and logo.
  5. Save the code.

Shared Analytics

Because the QR resolves through your shortlink, scanning the code and clicking the link both register against that shortlink. You manage the destination from the shortlink itself, so updating the link updates the QR’s destination too.
