Today we’re launching Parameters, a new set of controls and governance for the tracking parameters — like the commonly used UTM values — that tell your analytics where a scan or click came from.
When several people create QR codes and shortlinks, tracking values drift. Newsletter, newsletter, and news-letter all end up as separate rows in your reports, and the campaign you wanted to measure gets scattered across slightly different spellings. Parameters fixes that by letting an admin define an approved library of values and rules, then choose how strictly to apply them — so every link your team creates uses consistent tracking data. It also makes it easy to insert pre-existing tracking parameters into QR codes and shortlinks, instead of retyping UTMs by hand each time.
“Before today, managing link tracking parameters was difficult, resulting in inconsistent, incorrect, or even missing tracking values,” said Garrett Genest, founder of SnapGlyph. “With the launch of our new Parameters feature, SnapGlyph is eliminating the need for organizations to purchase a new point solution in order to achieve effective link governance.”
Governance that rolls out at your pace
Parameters is built to be adopted gradually, not flipped on all at once. Enforcement is a three-way switch:
- Off — parameters pass through unchanged.
- Soft — builders see warnings for unapproved values, but nothing is blocked, so you can find problems before you start enforcing.
- Hard — unapproved values are blocked on every write path and normalized to their approved form, including the API, the browser extension, and bulk tools, so it can’t be bypassed.
A non-conformance report scans your existing links for values that predate your rules and lets you adopt them, map them to an approved value, or ignore them. Turning on enforcement never rewrites your existing links — you clean those up on your own schedule.
Consistency without the busywork
Per-field rules can force lowercase, replace spaces, cap length, and restrict a field to an approved pick-list — so the canonical form of every value is decided once and applied everywhere. Bulk tools like Clone & stamp and Apply parameter respect the same rules, which keeps even large batches consistent.
Available today, on Pro and Max
Parameters is live now on the Pro and Max plans for Owners and Admins, who can manage value sets and turn on enforcement. Members on any plan can build tracked links and request new values. Pro supports up to three value sets; Max is unlimited.
